There are many styles of beads handmade in Ghana.  The Krobo people have an ancient and unique bead making process.

Old glass bottles and broken windows are crushed and sorted according to color.  Then the glass powder is placed into molds which are heated in kilns.

When the beads are removed from the molds, they are polished.
